Rhode Home Rescue

Who are we?

Rhode Home Rescue specializes in rescuing dogs from unhealthy situations – be it kill shelters, incapable owners, and surrenders – and finding them the furever homes they deserve.  At Rhode Home, we fully believe that adopting a rescue not only save them, but saves you too!

Our Organization

Rhode Home Rescue is an all volunteer, non-profit, 501(c)(3) organization whose volunteers have many years of rescue experience. Our mission is to identify and rescue all types of dogs from overwhelmed euthanasia shelters and abusive situations and place them in secure, loving homes. We are a foster-based program, consisting of all volunteers, and have decided to branch out on our own in order to fulfill our mission.

Prior to a Rhode Home Rescue dog being adopted, each dog undergoes an examination by a veterinarian, is updated on all age appropriate vaccinations, spayed or neutered, and micro chipped. At Rhode Home Rescue we firmly believe that a healthy, well trained dog is the key to the successful integration of a rescued dog and ensures a wonderful, loving companion for years to come.

The average cost to rescue a dog in 2012 was $720. Rhode Home Rescue is a non-profit, 501(c)(3) organization and 100% of donations and fees are used for the rescue and care of these dogs!

Since our humble beginning in 2016, RHR has enjoyed the following milestones:

  • We Love Rhode Home Rescue. We had looked at other "rescues" and felt like no one was interesting in helping our family, that wanted to help a dog find it's forever home. Two weeks ago, Daisy, AKA, Miss Beans, found her way home to us! Our experience with Rhode Home Rescue has been amazing! Dina and Stacey are pretty amazing people with an amazing love for all dogs. Thank you for all that you do. Thank You, for our sweet Daisy! xoxo

  • positive review  A Wonderful rescue organization Incase your wondering where to adopt from. I have first hand experience with RHR. Two yrs ago we adopted Petey, a Lil guy who looks like a mix of Chihuahua and dachshund. He was 3 at the time, found on the streets of Arkansas and his front right leg clearly had been broken in the past and never set medically to heal right. He still uses it but holds it up when he runs causing his Lil ears to flop(so cute) as he hops along. We were worried the leg would become increasing painful and need Orthopedic surgery. RHR was prepared to cover the cost of whatever treatment was recommended by the Vets! I was shocked and impressed with the professionalism. We believe , from what we have seen that he experienced a home at some point in the past with domestic abuse 🙁 but after 2 yrs Petey appears happy and secure with me. He still does not trust his human daddy completely and seems to think that violence could come from him at any time (even though it never has) unless he is sitting or laying down at which time Petey will slowly creep to him and get pets and snuggles, the minute his dad goes to get up though Petey turns into a rocket and runs for his life! And it’s been 2 years. ADOPTION: Some may think the adoption fee is too much however if you think about what it takes to keep RHR going , transport of dogs from around the country, Freq adoption events, Vet bills, employee wages and the ability to take responsibility for any special vet needs or surgeries that the pups may need to ensure it doesn’t fall on the new owners. Wow. This is the longest review ever but I am so grateful for RHR and all organizations like them for helping all of the dogs in need, having a fur baby is amazing they give us unconditional love only asking for the same, and the therapy/stress release gained from just sitting with your furbabies and petting them is priceless. PLEASE ADOPT ( as long as your prepared for the responsibility) and treat them like your furry babies. ??#lovedogs

  • positive review  5 star experience from start to finish! We love our Blaire and could not be happier with all our experiences at Rhode Home Rescue! From my first interaction with Regina to the time we walked away with our adorable puppy, every person we dealt with was friendly, knowledgeable and obviously extremely dedicated. We were looking at a few different pups and we were able to take our time and find the perfect doggo for our family. Thank you so much to everyone involved! <3 <3
